Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aunes Kannunen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ikika Uroassa!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kannunen gets the takedown into side control.
Kannunen really is a fat lump.
Uroassa prevents Kannunen from improving position.
Kannunen works to advance to full mount. Uroassa defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Kannunen looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Uroassa tries to lock up and control but Kannunen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Uroassa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kannunen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kannunen controlling from mount.
Kannunen wants to control the pace but Uroassa is squirming around nicely.
Kannunen thowing shots but they're missing.
Kannunen looking to control but Uroassa is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Uroassa tries to lock up and control but Kannunen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kannunen looking to control and managing it successfully.
Kannunen lands with some strikes.
Kannunen won't let Uroassa get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Kannunen trying to control but Uroassa is having none of it.
Kannunen goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Uroassa is on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Uroassa is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Kannunen has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Uroassa is looking to defend but Kannunen has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Uroassa! Kannunen pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Uroassa taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Aunes Kannunen!
