Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Yoshiro Akiyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rojo Sangria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akiyama comes to the cage accompanied by Time To Say Goodbye. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshiro Akiyama! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rojo Sangria! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slow jab from Akiyama misses its intended target. Sangria shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Sangria controlling the pace. Sangria is just content to waste time from the top position. Akiyama takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Akiyama wants to stand and escape but Sangria is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sangria sitting in guard here, content to control. I looks like Sangria might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Sangria throws and elbow that misses. Akiyama uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sangria's guard. Nice move by Akiyama! Akiyama is fighting to break Sangria's control of his arms but Sangria is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Despite being in the dominant position, Rojo Sangria just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Akiyama cracks the inside of Sangria's front leg. Sangria looks to throw the jab but Akiyama is out of range. Nice takedown defense from Akiyama. No joy for Sangria on that attempt. Akiyama misses with a wild combination.
Sangria swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Akiyama counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Sangria takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Akiyama misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sangria.
Sangria with a poor takedown and Akiyama counters with a nice low kick that buckles Sangria's knee momentarily. Sangria has his takedown stuffed letting Akiyama counter with a right hand. Yoshiro Akiyama has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rojo Sangria. Sangria looks gassed! Sangria slips a jab and a cross from Akiyama.
A punch lands to the side of Sangria 's head but he takes it in his stride.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akiyama bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Sangria drops his hands momentarily and Akiyama takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Sangria keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sangria doesn't succeed with the takedown and Akiyama counters with a nice body shot. Sangria walks straight into a right hand from Akiyama - that's dropped him! Akiyama jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Sangria from any more punishment! Sangria complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Yoshiro Akiyama!
