Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Warren Fitzgerald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Pulver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fitzgerald comes to the cage accompanied by And Now We Dance - The Vandals. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Warren Fitzgerald! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, George Pulver! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pulver slips a jab and a cross from Fitzgerald.
Pulver looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! The fight stays on the outside here - Pulver looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Fitzgerald drops Pulver with a left right combo! Fitzgerald follows him down to the ground into side control.
It looks like George Pulver has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pulver tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Fitzgerald presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Fitzgerald with the ground and pound from mount. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pulver can do anything to dispel that myth. Fitzgerald sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Fitzgerald seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pulver for as long as he can get away with.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fitzgerald jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pulver manages to avoid the submission attempt. Pulver trying to remain calm as Fitzgerald controls from the top position. Fitzgerald decides to stand back up. Fitzgerald fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Fitzgerald closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Fitzgerald seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Fitzgerald swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Pulver swats away the attempt to clinch by Fitzgerald. Pulver has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Fitzgerald moves into the clinch. Fitzgerald stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Pulver goes for a takedown in the clinch but Fitzgerald prevents it.

Nice sprawl there from Pulver as Fitzgerald shoots in. Pulver tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Fitzgerald counters with a straight right hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fitzgerald keeps the fight on the outside. Pulver showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Fitzgerald.
Pulver tries to close the distance and clinch but Fitzgerald swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Fitzgerald pushes Pulver up against the cage in a clinch. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Fitzgerald as Pulver tries to tie him up. Fitzgerald breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pulver takes one on the button. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fitzgerald is defended easily by Pulver. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Warren Fitzgerald dominated that round. The cut man is working on George Pulver's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Fitzgerald fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fitzgerald throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Pulver moves in looking to clinch but Fitzgerald pushes him off. Pulver throws a right and a left that both miss. A clash of legs there as Pulver blocks the low kick. Pulver ducks right into an uppercut from Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Fitzgerald is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Pulver moves out of range as Fitzgerald throws a body kick.

Pulver swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Pulver tries to lock up and control but Fitzgerald gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Fitzgerald with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Pulver is desperately trying to improve his position but Fitzgerald has a good base and remains in mount. Fitzgerald can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pulver is looking to escape. Pulver is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pulver is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Pulver tries to hold on but Fitzgerald pushes him away. Pulver is squirming around, avoiding Fitzgerald's attempts to control the action. Pulver is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Fitzgerald looking to control but Pulver is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Pulver throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Pulver tries to reverse the position but Fitzgerald maintains control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pulver is squirming around, avoiding Fitzgerald's attempts to control the action. Pulver is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Pulver drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fitzgerald is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The ground and pound from Pulver seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Pulver working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Fitzgerald is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Pulver's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Fitzgerald throws a push kick but Pulver slaps the foot to one side. Warren Fitzgerald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fitzgerald shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Fitzgerald's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Fitzgerald duly obliges.

Pulver wants to clinch up but Fitzgerald keeps it at a distance. Fitzgerald tries for a takedown but Pulver circles away easily and Pulver counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Fitzgerald's guard now. Pulver stands up over Fitzgerald, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Fitzgerald preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Pulver postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Fitzgerald keeping full guard, as Pulver tries to pass. Pulver throwing strikes but missing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pulver with a nice head shot there. Fitzgerald keeping moving, preventing Pulver from controlling successfully. Pulver working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Pulver loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Pulver takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Fitzgerald misses with a two punch combination.

Fitzgerald fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pulver sprawls well initially but Fitzgerald persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Pulver trying to control but Fitzgerald postures up.
Pulver is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Warren Fitzgerald is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Pulver missing with punches from the bottom.
Pulver wants to improve his position but Fitzgerald is controlling well.
George Pulver has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
And that's the end of the fight! George Pulver comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Fitzgerald has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
