Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, King Kong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ricardo Jones!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws out a loose jab but Kong uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jones waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Kong.
Jones misses with a wild combination.
Kong misses with a wild body shot.
Kong drops his hands momentarily and Jones takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Kong misses the shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kong misses the shot to the body.
Kong takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses.
Kong takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Jones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kong circles away quickly and effectively.
Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Kong. Kong gets slowly back to his feet.
Kong ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kong fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it.
Ricardo Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kong takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Kong misses with a hook to the body
letting Jones counter with a right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Kong shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.
Jones lands a big right hand that sends Kong crashing to the mat! Jones stays standing though and waves Kong back to his feet!
Kong is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones thuds a left hand into Kong's body.
Kong is breathing heavily.
Jones cracks Kong on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Kong falls backwards against the cage. Jones follows up with more strikes that drop Kong to his knees. Jones keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Kong! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ricardo Jones!
