Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between hillbilly george (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, hillbilly george!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Daniels!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
george tries to clinch up but Daniels circles away and keeps his distance.
Daniels shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says george as he avoids it easily.

and Daniels counters with a nice double leg into side control. george won't be happy with that.
You can see the frustration on george's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Daniels decides to stand back up. Daniels steps back and let's george get back to his feet.
Daniels leaves george with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
hillbilly george seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
george will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for hillbilly george. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Daniels counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
george makes his way to full guard. A much better position for george.

Daniels stands up from george's guard - Daniels perhaps looking for a knockout.

george tries to keep at a distance but Daniels has taken the fight into the clinch.

Daniels has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed george clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
george trying to control the action but Daniels just sinks the hooks in.
Daniels keeps control of the position easily here as george tries to buck him off.
Daniels really doesn't want to stay on the ground with george. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Daniels is not going to allow george to sit and survive in this position.
Daniels slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Let's hope that Daniels has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Daniels can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as george controls the pace.
Daniels is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst george is controlling him.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
george stands and throws Daniels's legs to the side, diving into side control.
george tries to advance to mount but can't.
george trying to control the position but Daniels is working away.

george stands up and we're back to a striking position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Daniels dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


george shoots in but Daniels avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Daniels counters with a shoot takedown. george fights it but they end up in guard.

Daniels decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Daniels closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
george is trying to get back to his feet.
george tries to bench press Daniels off him but Daniels keeps the position.
Daniels lands a few punches from side control.
george tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Daniels wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Daniels decides to stand back up. Daniels steps back and let's george get back to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from george.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for hillbilly george. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Daniels counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for george!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

You get the feeling that george really doesn't like being in this position too much.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

george is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Daniels showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Daniels is looking to chop away at george's legs.

Jim Daniels has got the better of the ground game so far.
Daniels wants to take a breather but george is having none of it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jim Daniels just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

so Daniels counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

george has his feet on Daniels's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Daniels swats away the attempt to clinch by george.

Daniels content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Daniels uses his free foot to push down on george's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for george.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
george's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Jim Daniels is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Jim Daniels comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Daniels has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
