Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vanish Arkoviskjonk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roque Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vanish Arkoviskjonk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roque Alexander!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alexander avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Arkoviskjonk tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Alexander paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Vanish Arkoviskjonk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Arkoviskjonk moves in looking to clinch but Alexander pushes him off.

Arkoviskjonk's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Alexander is trying to trip Arkoviskjonk. He has hold of a leg but Arkoviskjonk is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Alexander persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Alexander is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Arkoviskjonk is just riding it out for now. Alexander eventually gives up the hold.

Arkoviskjonk knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alexander on the ground.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alexander is trying to control. Arkoviskjonk wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Arkoviskjonk scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Alexander manages to mount him!
Alexander connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Arkoviskjonk is squirming around, avoiding Alexander's attempts to control the action.
Alexander lands a nice shot to the head.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Alexander has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Arkoviskjonk uses from the top position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Arkoviskjonk has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Alexander is proving hard to escape from.
