Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Barney Phife!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bork Nagar!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nagar tries to close the distance and clinch but Phife swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nagar throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The fight stays on the outside here - Nagar looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nagar's corner calls for a 1-2. Nagar obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Phife lands with a straight right. Nagar didn't see that one coming.
Nagar tries to close the distance and clinch but Phife swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nagar shoots for a takedown but Phife saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Phife misses with a takedown attempt - Nagar sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Phife displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nagar throws out the jab.

Nagar throws out a loose jab but Phife uses good head movement to avoid it.

Phife looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Phife takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Phife seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Nagar is looking to improve his position.
Phife lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Nagar stuffs the takedown attempt from Phife. Phife gets slowly back to his feet.
Nagar tries to clinch up but Phife circles away and keeps his distance.
Nagar lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nagar just misses with a punch to the body.
Phife shoots in looking for a takedown. Nagar tries to sprawl out of it but Phife keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nagar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nagar slaps away a takedown attempt from Phife, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Barney Phife. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Nagar.
Nagar tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nagar throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Phife sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Phife lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Bork Nagar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Phife scores with a punch to the head.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Nagar thows a body shot but no joy.
Nagar tries for a takedown but Phife circles away easily

and Phife counters with a takedown into side control.
Phife looks up at the clock and then as Nagar takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Phife smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Nagar is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Phife thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Phife creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Phife scores with punches from side control.
Nagar manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Nagar is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Phife defends it well.
Barney Phife overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Phife tries to get to full guard but Nagar has control of the leg.
Phife is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Nagar's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Nagar's back!

Phife lands strikes to the head.

Nagar covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Phife is hanging on to Nagar's back as he tries to escape.
Phife has Nagar flattened out and is raining down punches.
Phife throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Nagar!
Phife lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Nagar hold on?!


Nagar is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nagar manages to reverse the position and now he's in Phife's guard. Nice work there by Nagar.
Nagar is breathing heavily.
Phife wants to sweep but no luck.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Barney Phife dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Bork Nagar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Phife! Nagar is hurt baaadly! Phife is firing away with more strikes - Nagar is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
