Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Lidell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kapten Klaenning! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lidell is looking to clinch but Klaenning is avoiding it.
Klaenning throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lidell was covering up waiting for the punch and Klaenning finishes the takedown easily into guard. Klaenning controls from within his opponent's guard. Lidell wants to stand but Klaenning is controlling the position. Lidell can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Klaenning controls the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Klaenning gets to his feet. Lidell looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Lidell wants to clinch. Klaenning decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Klaenning controlling the action here. Klaenning is trying to work for a kimura but Lidell is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Klaenning content to control rather than advance. Lidell is trying to escape back to his feet but Klaenning uses the scramble to pass into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lidell wants to get back to his feet but Klaenning drags him back down. Klaenning working the ground and pound from side control. Klaenning decides to take the fight back to the feet. Lidell tries to clinch there but Klaenning circles away.
Klaenning keeps the fight on the outside. Klaenning drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Klaenning slips nicely into half guard. Klaenning trying to control the pace. Klaenning is looking for a kimura here.

Kapten Klaenning dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Lidell fails with an attempt to clinch.
Klaenning moves into range and clinches up with Lidell. Klaenning has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Klaenning changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lidell fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Lidell darts in trying to clinch so Klaenning counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Lidell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Klaenning on the ground. Klaenning controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Klaenning stands up from Lidell's guard - Klaenning perhaps looking for a knockout. Chuck Lidell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Klaenning missing with a left hand there. Lidell was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Klaenning bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Kapten Klaenning has got the better of the ground game so far. Klaenning content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The ground and pound from Klaenning seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. An elbow from Klaenning crashes against the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Klaenning stands up and beckons Lidell to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Lidell clinches but Klaenning breaks the clinch and Klaenning counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lidell! Klaenning controlling from mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lidell wants to get back to his feet.
Klaenning punishing his opponent with strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kapten Klaenning showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Lidell's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Klaenning wants to slow Lidell down by chopping away at his legs. Lidell wants to clinch and Klaenning counters with a nice double leg into guard. Klaenning working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Klaenning content to stall in guard here. Klaenning drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Klaenning jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Klaenning stands and steps away. Lidell gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Klaenning controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Klaenning advances position into side control! Lidell gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Klaenning working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Lidell turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Klaenning off and cradles Lidell's limp body as Klaenning celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Kapten Klaenning!
