The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Canmelianenko attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Vatanen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Vatanen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Canmelianenko tries to reverse the position but Vatanen maintains control.
Vatanen has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Canmelianenko's face.
It looks like Rodef Canmelianenko has been cut.
Canmelianenko is looking to get to half guard.
Vatanen lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
