Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shinichi Fuujin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pernell Whittaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fuujin comes to the cage accompanied by Soilwork - Rejection Role. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Pernell Whittaker was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinichi Fuujin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pernell Whittaker!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good standup being displayed there by Whittaker as he connects with a hook.
It looks like Shinichi Fuujin has been cut.
Fuujin misses with a double jab.
Fuujin takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Fuujin shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Fuujin stops Whittaker from getting back to his feet.
Fuujin thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Whittaker is concentrating on defense, preventing Fuujin from advancing position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Whittaker is looking to control Fuujin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Whittaker avoid being mounted?
Fuujin trying to pass the guard but Whittaker defending well.
Whittaker is trying to maintain the position but Fuujin is very close to passing his half guard.
Whittaker is trying to get back to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Fuujin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Whittaker.
Whittaker looks to throw the jab but Fuujin is out of range.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
No joy there for Whittaker, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Fuujin connects with the punch.
Whittaker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fuujin was well out of range. Poor timing from Whittaker.
Danga de danga de dang - Fuujin scores with a four punch combination!
Whittaker uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fuujin.
A jab-cross combination lands for Fuujin and sends Whittaker crashing to the mat! Fuujin follows him down to the mat - Whittaker regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Whittaker is rocked!
It looks like Pernell Whittaker has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fuujin lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Whittaker quite badly. Whittaker pulls Fuujin in close trying to recover. Fuujin postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Whittaker on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Whittaker doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shinichi Fuujin!
