PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dominic Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Paradoski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dominic Hart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brandon Paradoski!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hart lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Paradoski at a distance.
Brandon Paradoski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A head kick from Hart lands but Paradoski takes it in his stride.

Paradoski closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Hart breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hart has managed to clinch.
Hart is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Paradoski pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Paradoski landing knees to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Hart manages to break the clinch.
Hart avoids a kick to the body.
Paradoski changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hart tries to avoid it but Paradoski manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hart to the ground. Hart escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Paradoski looks gassed!

Hart shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Hart drops an elbow to the side of Paradoski's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hart takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Hart working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Hart takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Paradoski controlling the position for now.

Hart is trying to work for a kimura but Paradoski is defending well.

Hart is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Paradoski is refusing to be controlled, as Hart sits in half guard.

Paradoski is trying to maintain the position but Hart is very close to passing his half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Paradoski is looking for a sweep. Hart is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Paradoski is looking to control Hart's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Paradoski avoid being mounted?

Hart looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hart connects with a nice short shot to Paradoski's temple.

Hart decides to stand and escape the position.

Paradoski darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Paradoski thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hart's head.
Hart is positioning himself well to prevent Paradoski advancing to mount.
Hart works his way to full guard. Good work.
Paradoski tries to free his leg and advance position but Hart is retaining full guard.

Paradoski drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hart looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hart looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hart!

You can see the frustration on Paradoski's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Paradoski is trying to escape the position but Hart is controlling the position.

Hart stands up.
Paradoski slips a jab and a cross from Hart.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hart.

Paradoski drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dominic Hart dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Hart misses with a leg kick.
Paradoski has his takedown stuffed

and Hart counters with a single leg into guard. Paradoski didn't expect that.
Hart keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Paradoski's head.

Hart gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Hart shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Paradoski napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Paradoski tries to bench press Hart off him but Hart keeps the position.
Paradoski is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Hart controls the position from side control.
Paradoski tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hart happy to just control the position for now.
Paradoski tries to buck Hart off but Hart is having none of it.

Dominic Hart overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Paradoski tries to hold on but Hart postures up.
Hart is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Paradoski can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Paradoski is in all sorts of trouble here.
Hart lands a nice shot to the head.
BOOM! Hart connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Hart get's back to his feet.
Paradoski doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hart makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Paradoski wants to hold on but Hart pushes him away.

Hart wants to finish this one by submission but Paradoski is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hart.

Paradoski is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Hart closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Paradoski holds on to Hart as tight as he can, avoiding damage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hart, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
