The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crow pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Pain stuns Crow with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Crow throws a head kick that misses.
Crow fails with an attempt to clinch.
Crow is looking to clinch but Pain is avoiding it.
Crow rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pain moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Crow throws a push kick but Pain slaps the foot to one side.
Pain takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Crow connects with a high kick.

It looks like Max Pain has been cut.
Crow throws a leg kick but Pain checks it.
Crow will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Crow tries to bum rush Pain with a series of wild strikes but Pain uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Pain feints and as Crow raises his hands in defense, Pain changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Pain advances position into side control!

Pain is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Crow is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Crow misses with an elbow from the bottom.

Pain throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Pain moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Pain postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Crow wants to get back to his feet.
Pain tries to advance to mount but Crow denies him.
Pain has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

and Pain counters with a left and a right that stings Crow.
Crow stuffs the takedown attempt from Pain. Pain gets slowly back to his feet.

Pain bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Pain jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Crow manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Pain lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Pain looking to ground and pound but Crow is blocking nicely.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pain wants to control from the top but Crow keeps moving.
Crow throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Pain slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Crow.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Crow gets caught flat footed, as Pain shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Crow wants to stand but Pain is controlling the position.

Pain gets to his feet - Crow follows without any prompting.

Crow fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Pain, pushing him back against the cage.

Crow breaks the clinch.
Pain throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Crow's waist but Crow gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pain off to one side.

Crow gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Pain with a flurry of punches that miss.

Pain drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pain jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Crow dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Pain. That did some damage!
Crow looks to land a body kick but Pain moved away.
Pain is looking to clinch but Crow is avoiding it.
Pain goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Crow will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Crow throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Pain avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Pain closes the distance and clinches up with Crow, looking for a takedown. Pain pushes Crow against the cage but Crow circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Pain looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Crow with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
