Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roger Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and D Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gracie might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dread Zepellin - Stairway to Heaven. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that D Maia was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roger Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, D Maia!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gracie rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Maia moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Gracie lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Maia has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Maia and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Gracie tries to bum rush Maia with a series of wild strikes but Maia uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gracie misses with a low kick as Maia jumps back.
Gracie swinging wilding here.
Gracie looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Gracie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Maia closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Maia tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Gracie tries to improve position but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Maia advances to mount.
Maia manages to capitalize on a mistake by Gracie to take his back!
Gracie tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Maia is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Gracie has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Maia has control of Gracie's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gracie regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Maia working for a guillotine from mount but Gracie is in no mood to give up.

Gracie is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Gracie bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Maia utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Maia is on top in guard.
Maia pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gracie is keeping the position for now.

Gracie lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Maia!
Maia is looking to improve his position but Gracie isn't that keen on the idea.
Maia has given up his back.
Maia tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Maia?
Gracie tries to control but Maia wriggling away.

Gracie postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Maia is out cold - huge knockout for Gracie!
