Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sergio Desay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phillip Lommer!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lommer lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Lommer.

Desay feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Desay slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lommer tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lommer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Desay. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Desay is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lommer is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lommer struggling a bit here.

Desay tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Desay has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Desay is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lommer is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Desay tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Desay is breathing heavily.
Lommer stuck in half guard on the bottom here.

Lommer wants to get back to full guard.
Lommer is looking to control Desay's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lommer avoid being mounted?
Lommer moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Lommer can't keep his opponent in guard - Desay advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Desay is looking for a kimura but Lommer is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Desay to get the leverage.
Lommer wants to get back to full guard.
Lommer is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Desay is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Desay is thwarting Lommer's attempts to control the position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Desay is working for a kimura but Lommer is defending it quite comfortably.
Desay prevents Lommer from improving his position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Lommer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Desay will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lommer changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Desay shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Lommer is looking to control Desay's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lommer avoid being mounted?

Desay moves into full mount! Lommer won't be happy about that!
Lommer is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Desay goes for an armbar but Lommer turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Lommer.
Desay keeping moving, preventing Lommer from controlling successfully.

Desay working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lommer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lommer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Lommer wants to control from the top but Desay keeps moving.
Lommer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Desay looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Lommer slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Desay looking for a sweep. Not yet Desay, not yet.
Lommer wants to control from the top but Desay keeps moving.

Desay looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Desay keeping moving, preventing Lommer from controlling successfully.

Desay has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lommer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Desay looking for a triangle here. Lommer is fighting it but it looks tight! Desay pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Lommer is tapping out - this one is all over!
