PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joel Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Disisto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joel Wilson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Disisto!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson throws a push kick but Disisto slaps the foot to one side.
Wilson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Disisto as he jumps to the side.
Disisto tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wilson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Disisto somewhat.
Disisto is looking to chop away at Wilson's legs.
Disisto looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wilson is fending him off so far but Disisto persists. Nope, Wilson circles away and we're back to standing.
Disisto shoots in and drives through. Wilson sprawls well.
Joel Wilson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Disisto.

Disisto instigates a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wilson is looking to break free of the clinch but Disisto has double underhooks.
Disisto tries to pull guard but Wilson won't allow it.

Disisto has Wilson pressed against the cage, preventing Wilson from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Wilson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Disisto's efforts to push away.

Disisto manages to break the clinch.
Disisto tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Disisto fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Disisto tries to clinch there but Wilson circles away.
Wilson swats away the attempt to clinch by Disisto.

Disisto decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Wilson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Disisto is looking to take a break and control but Wilson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Disisto frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Disisto working for a submission but Wilson is keeping him at bay.
Wilson is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Disisto wants to control the pace but Wilson is squirming around nicely.

Wilson really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Disisto wants to finish this one by submission but Wilson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Disisto.
Disisto looks gassed!

Disisto gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Disisto throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wilson's waist but Wilson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Disisto off to one side.
Disisto wants to clinch.
Wilson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wilson slaps away a takedown attempt from Disisto, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Wilson tries to clinch up

and Disisto counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Wilson!

Disisto working for a guillotine from mount but Wilson is in no mood to give up.
Wilson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Disisto dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


A head kick from Wilson lands but Disisto takes it in his stride.
Horrible takedown by Disisto or perhaps it was just good defense by Wilson which made him look bad.
Disisto lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wilson circles away quickly and effectively.
Wilson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Disisto swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Disisto avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wilson fails with an attempt to clinch.

Wilson punishes Disisto's body with a nice straight punch.
Wilson tries to clinch but Disisto is having none of it.

Disisto bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Disisto has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Wilson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Wilson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Disisto.
Joel Wilson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Disisto.

Wilson pushes Disisto up against the cage in a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wilson with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Disisto on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Wilson is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Wilson lands a damaging elbow.
Wilson taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Wilson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wilson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Disisto.
Wilson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Wilson moves away from the strike by Disisto.
Wilson throws the kick towards the body but Disisto avoids it.
Disisto circles away from the clinch attempt

and Disisto counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Disisto.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Disisto missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Disisto is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Disisto throwing strikes but missing.
Disisto in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Disisto stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Wilson is looking to clinch but Disisto is avoiding it.

Disisto decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Disisto is working for a submission of some sort.
Disisto frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Disisto showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Disisto shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Wilson napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Disisto has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Wilson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Disisto yanks on the arm and Wilson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Disisto.
