PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Debor Tan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stevee Cee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cee has chosen RENEGADE MASTER as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Debor Tan has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Debor Tan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stevee Cee!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Tan or perhaps it was just good defense by Cee which made him look bad.
Tan fails in his attempt to clinch.
Cee has his takedown stuffed

and Tan counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cee's guard now.
Cee is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Tan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cee is keeping the position for now.
Cee seems keen to control Tan's posture.
Tan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Cee looking to control.
Tan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Cee utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Cee wants to sweep but no luck.

Tan fails with the takedown

and Cee counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cee.

Cee is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Tan throwing shots but Cee is blocking nicely.
Cee is trying to get back to full guard.

Tan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cee is looking for a sweep. Tan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Tan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cee's head.
Tan seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Cee counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Tan with a flurry of punches that miss.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Cee tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tan wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Tan misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Cee can't do much from the bottom here.
Tan postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Tan creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Cee sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tan misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Tan with the ground and pound but Cee regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Debor Tan dominated that round.

Cee shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cee showed some decent athleticism there.

Cee is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Tan punching from the bottom.
Cee sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Tan defending well though.
Cee is trying to control. Tan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Tan is trying to get back to full guard.
Cee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tan keeps working.

Cee pulls Tan in close to prevent any damage.

Tan tries to free his leg and advance position but Cee is retaining full guard.
Cee manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

BOOM! Cee connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Cee breaks from Tan's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Cee is landing with some decent strikes but Tan is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tan tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Cee lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Tan hang on?

Cee is going olschool here, as he tries to force Tan to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Tan shrugs it off.
Tan keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Cee lands a big elbow.
Cee working the ground and pound effectively.
Cee connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Tan is trying desperately to improve position.

Cee goes for an armbar but Tan turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Tan.
Cee not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cee is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Tan distracts Cee with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Tan scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Tan passes into half guard.
Tan prevents Cee from improving his position.
Tan scoring with strikes to the body and head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stevee Cee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Cee shoots and misses

and Tan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cee won't be happy with that.
Debor Tan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
You can see the frustration on Cee's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Tan fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Tan scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Cee to see if he's OK.
Cee tries to buck Tan off but Tan is having none of it.
Tan is working Cee over with some ground and pound from side control.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Tan cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Cee can't escape the position.
Tan looking to ground and pound but Cee is blocking nicely.

Tan looking to finish Cee with some ground and pound. This is bad for Cee!
Cee wants to control but Tan is having none of it.
Cee is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Cee bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Cee slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Tan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cee!
Tan lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Tan putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Cee wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Tan.

Cee tries to hold on but Tan postures up.
Tan pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Poor strikes thrown by Tan there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Cee gets back to half guard.
Cee moves into full guard.

Cee had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Tan is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Cee Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Tan's back instead.

Cee has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Will Cee go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Tan manages to reverse the position and now he's in Cee's guard. Nice work there by Tan.
Cee wants to sweep here but Tan controlling him for the moment.
Tan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Debor Tan showed his dominance in that final round.
