Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shige Takazaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shin Asuka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shin Asuka will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Shige Takazaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shin Asuka!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asuka shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Takazaki defends it nicely.
Takazaki looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Asuka looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Asuka fails in his attempt to clinch.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Asuka.
Asuka shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Takazaki sprawls well. Takazaki wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Asuka gets slowly back to his feet.
Shige Takazaki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shin Asuka.
Asuka fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Asuka throws a series of punches but Takazaki moves out of range.
Takazaki changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Asuka looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Asuka tries to improve position but can't.
Asuka wants to control but Takazaki postures up.

Asuka is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Takazaki tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Takazaki has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Takazaki thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Asuka is looking to reverse the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Takazaki tries to stand but Asuka is controlling his head.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Asuka is looking to clinch.
Asuka misses with a takedown
and Takazaki counters with a takedown into side control.
Asuka tries to improve position but can't.
Asuka taking punishment in the form of punches.
Takazaki thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Takazaki working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Takazaki is working to tighten is grip on Asuka's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Asuka has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Takazaki is really squeezing tight and eventually Asuka passes out! Takazaki breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
