Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alek Mitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malik Carr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alek Mitchell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Malik Carr! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carr misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Carr steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mitchell. Carr closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mitchell to the mat! Mitchell manages to get full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carr throwing strikes but missing. Carr thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Carr postures up in Mitchell's guard and throws a big left but Mitchell blocks it. Carr tries to free his leg and advance position but Mitchell is retaining full guard. Carr postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mitchell is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Carr, into his guard. Carr has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Carr tries to land a sweep but no joy. Mitchell has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mitchell trying to control the position from guard on top but Carr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mitchell seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Mitchell looking to pass the guard. Carr escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mitchell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Carr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mitchell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mitchell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Carr looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mitchell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carr swivels though and keeps the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mitchell sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Carr's guard. Mitchell not doing much here.
Carr looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mitchell content to control rather than advance. Carr is looking to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mitchell is keen to just control but Carr is a slippery customer. Mitchell perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Carr misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Carr tries to roll over but Mitchell keeps him under control. Carr is trying to control but can't.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. The fight stays on the outside here - Carr looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Carr will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Mitchell thows a left - swing and a miss! Carr uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mitchell.
Mitchell throws a hook to the side of Carr's head but Carr sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Mitchell tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Carr was well out of range. Poor timing from Mitchell. Mitchell pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Mitchell misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Carr.
Carr moves out of range as Mitchell strikes. Mitchell just misses with a punch to the body.
Carr fails with the takedown. Alek Mitchell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Malik Carr. A head kick misses from Carr. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mitchell tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Carr was well out of range. Poor timing from Mitchell. Mitchell is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Carr. Carr throws a sloppy head kick and Mitchell moves out of range easily. Mitchell scores with a hook to the body. Carr takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alek Mitchell dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Mitchell throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Carr changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mitchell looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Carr working away. Carr working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Carr looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Mitchell is trying to control Carr's posture but Carr avoids it. Mitchell tries to buck Carr off but Carr is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mitchell struggling a bit here. Carr throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Mitchell works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Mitchell blocking the ground and pound attempt from Carr. Carr is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mitchell doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Carr. Carr is breathing heavily. Mitchell moves into full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Mitchell wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Carr throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Mitchell trying to control the position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carr thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Carr being controlled here momentarily. Mitchell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Carr's guard. Carr has an active guard here but Mitchell has managed to pass into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Carr is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Carr is trying to escape the mount.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Carr gets back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Alek Mitchell will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Carr tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mitchell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Carr somewhat. No luck for Carr with that takedown attempt. Alek Mitchell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Malik Carr. A big right from Mitchell misses. A slow jab from Mitchell misses its intended target. Carr shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Carr drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mitchell manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Carr has Mitchell in his guard. Alek Mitchell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Carr shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mitchell napping and manages to drive through into side control! Carr sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Mitchell is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mitchell dodges the ground and pound from Carr. Carr tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Mitchell tries to get back to half guard but can't. Carr is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mitchell is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Malik Carr has got the better of the ground game so far. Mitchell is trying to control Carr's posture but Carr avoids it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carr wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mitchell, who protects the arm well.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mitchell just misses with a punch to the body.
Alek Mitchell is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mitchell lands a head shot. Carr shoots in looking for a takedown. Mitchell tries to sprawl out of it but Carr keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mitchell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A jab from Mitchell finds it's way through Carr's defenses. Mitchell throws a lazy right hand but Carr sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Mitchell throws and low kick but Carr moves out of range easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mitchell throws the left hand but Carr avoids the punch easily. Mitchell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Carr moves away. Carr uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mitchell.
Mitchell stuffs the takedown. Mitchell misses the shot to the body. Carr ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Mitchell connects with a single shot there. Mitchell throws a looping overhand right but Carr ducks down to avoid it. The fighters circling - Mitchell throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Malik Carr has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Carr doesn't manage to clinch there - Mitchell circles away.
Carr has a takedown stuffed. Mitchell takes a swing at Carr's ribcage but misses. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A shot to de liver by Mitchell. Beautiful body shot. Mitchell scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Carr keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Mitchell.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alek Mitchell. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mitchell, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
