Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yoshi Yamaguchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keith Ronald Kernspecht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshi Yamaguchi!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Keith Ronald Kernspecht!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Sosuke Kotani and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamaguchi stuffs the takedown attempt from Kernspecht. Kernspecht gets slowly back to his feet.
Kernspecht on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Yamaguchi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Yamaguchi lands in his opponent's guard.
Yamaguchi content to stall in guard here.

Kernspecht pushes Yamaguchi off and gets back to his feet.

Yamaguchi is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kernspecht's half guard.
Kernspecht tries to kick Yamaguchi off but Yamaguchi keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Yamaguchi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kernspecht does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Yamaguchi tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kernspecht knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Yamaguchi is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kernspecht!

Yamaguchi jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kernspecht manages to avoid the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yamaguchi lands an elbow.
Kernspecht is trying to buck Yamaguchi off.
Kernspecht is looking to regain half guard here but Yamaguchi keeps moving and retains side control.
Yamaguchi moves into full mount!
Yamaguchi takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.

Yamaguchi working for a choke but Kernspecht is defending well.
Yamaguchi is breathing heavily.
Yamaguchi controlling well, preventing Kernspecht from escaping the position.

Yamaguchi tightening his grip on Kernspecht, looking for the choke.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Yamaguchi has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Kernspecht has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kernspecht is trying to get back to his feet but Yamaguchi has full control of the position and if anything, Kernspecht has just worked his way into a worse spot.
I really don't envy Kernspecht right now.

Kernspecht is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Yamaguchi gets his way!
Kernspecht turns into Yamaguchi and is now in his guard.
Yamaguchi avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Kernspecht trying to control the position from guard on top but Yamaguchi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Yamaguchi is on top in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kernspecht wants to stand but Yamaguchi is controlling the position.
Yamaguchi passes Kernspecht's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Kernspecht tries to roll over but Yamaguchi keeps him under control.
Yamaguchi seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Kernspecht is refusing to be controlled, as Yamaguchi sits in half guard.
Kernspecht throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Kernspecht makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Yamaguchi scores a takedown into full mount!
Yamaguchi forces the positional change into back control.
Kernspecht staying busy and making it hard for Yamaguchi to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kernspecht has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Kernspecht is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Yamaguchi off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Yamaguchi looking for the RNC.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Yamaguchi has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Kernspecht is in bad spot here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Yamaguchi is looking for a choke. Kernspecht gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Kernspecht manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Yamaguchi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kernspecht manages to get himself to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yoshi Yamaguchi dominated that round.
That's time! Yamaguchi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Kernspecht throws a right and a left that Yamaguchi avoids nicely.

Yamaguchi looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kernspecht!
Kernspecht is desperately trying to improve his position but Yamaguchi has a good base and remains in mount.
Yamaguchi landing strikes from the mount and Kernspecht is in trouble!
Yamaguchi has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kernspecht's face.
Kernspecht flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Kernspecht really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yamaguchi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Yamaguchi postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kernspecht looks a forlorn figure.
Yoshi Yamaguchi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kernspecht is in all sorts of trouble here.

Yamaguchi looking for a guillotine from mount but Kernspecht is having none of it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Yamaguchi looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Kernspecht wants to use the ropes to get back to his feet here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Yamaguchi throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Kernspecht has his hands clasped together but Yamaguchi breaks the hold and Kernspecht is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Yamaguchi!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Yoshi Yamaguchi!
