Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Finley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sydney Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sydney Simpson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Finley shoots in for a takedown but Simpson shows good takedown defense.

Finley shoots in looking for a takedown. Simpson tries to sprawl out of it but Finley keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Simpson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Finley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Finley throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Simpson's waist but Simpson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Finley off to one side.

Finley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Simpson tries to avoid it but Finley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Simpson to the ground. Simpson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Horrible takedown by Finley or perhaps it was just good defense by Simpson which made him look bad.

and Finley counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Finley tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Simpson swivels and escapes.
Finley takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
