Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Victor Blitzkof! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chester Taylor! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taylor has managed to clinch.
Taylor keeps control of Blitzkof as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Taylor has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Blitzkof uses from the top position. Taylor looking for a sweep. Not yet Taylor, not yet. Taylor working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Blitzkof. Taylor keeping full guard, as Blitzkof tries to pass. Taylor looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Taylor can do anything to dispel that myth. Blitzkof trying to control but Taylor is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Taylor managing to control the position. Taylor is trying to keep Blitzkof in close.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Taylor throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Blitzkof's waist but Blitzkof gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Taylor off to one side. Blitzkof just misses with a punch to the body.
Chester Taylor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Blitzkof misses the shot to the body. Horrible takedown by Taylor or perhaps it was just good defense by Blitzkof which made him look bad. Taylor stuffs the takedown attempt from Blitzkof. Blitzkof gets slowly back to his feet. Blitzkof fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Blitzkof with a poor takedown and Taylor decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Blitzkof's guard. Blitzkof looking for a sweep. Not yet Blitzkof, not yet. Taylor postures up.
Taylor is working Blitzkof over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Blitzkof is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Taylor trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Taylor missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blitzkof looking for a guillotine here but Taylor defends easily.
Taylor looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Blitzkof controls Taylor momentarily but Taylor frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Taylor throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Blitzkof works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Taylor got a little sloppy there for a moment and Blitzkof has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Taylor has managed to get both his arms back between Blitzkof's legs - danger averted. Taylor wants to control from the top but Blitzkof keeps moving. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Taylor is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Blitzkof is trying to control the position but Taylor postures up. Taylor scoring with punches to the head and body. Taylor is looking to work some ground and pound but Blitzkof has wrist control. Blitzkof wants to get back to his feet but Taylor is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Blitzkof keeping full guard, as Taylor tries to pass.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blitzkof had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Taylor is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Blitzkof Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Taylor's back instead. Blitzkof is breathing heavily. Taylor is really stuck here.
Blitzkof goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Taylor escapes and is now in half guard on top. Taylor wants to take a breather but Blitzkof is having none of it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Blitzkof with a lazy takedown attempt and Taylor counters by clinching up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chester Taylor dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Blitzkof closes the distance looking to clinch and Taylor counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Taylor wants to take a breather but Blitzkof is having none of it. Taylor scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Blitzkof looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Taylor wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blitzkof keeps working. Blitzkof actively working from the bottom here. Taylor working over Blitzkof with some ground and pound. Blitzkof looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Taylor is looking to advance position but Blitzkof won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Taylor landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Taylor working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Blitzkof is trying to control but can't.
Ground and pound from Taylor. Taylor looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Blitzkof with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Taylor wants to control but Blitzkof is keeping him busy. Blitzkof is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Taylor pulls his head out easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Blitzkof gets full guard. Taylor won't allow Blitzkof to get back to his feet. Taylor in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Taylor not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Blitzkof is looking for a triangle but Taylor pushes his legs off easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Taylor wants to control from the top but Blitzkof keeps moving. Taylor with a nice head shot there. Taylor pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Blitzkof is keeping the position for now. Taylor gets to his feet. Blitzkof looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Blitzkof avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Taylor fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Taylor circles away from the clinch attempt.
Blitzkof tries to score a power double leg takedown but Taylor sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Blitzkof somewhat. Taylor shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Taylor accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blitzkof throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Blitzkof throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Taylor missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Blitzkof controls Taylor momentarily but Taylor frees himself. Taylor wants to control from the top but Blitzkof keeps moving. Blitzkof is striking but Taylor is not phased and passes to half guard. Taylor looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Blitzkof is looking to control Taylor's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Blitzkof avoid being mounted? And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chester Taylor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Blitzkof throws a right and a left that both miss. Blitzkof shoots in for a takedown but Taylor shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Taylor gets the takedown into side control. Blitzkof striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Blitzkof sneaks back into half guard. Taylor is trying to control. Blitzkof wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Blitzkof is looking to control Taylor's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Blitzkof avoid being mounted? Blitzkof slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Blitzkof is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Blitzkof preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Taylor working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Blitzkof's head. Taylor landing with the ground and pound. Taylor working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Taylor drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Blitzkof manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Taylor has Blitzkof in his guard. Blitzkof passes Taylor's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blitzkof is trying to control the action in half guard but Taylor is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Taylor is looking to control Blitzkof's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Taylor avoid being mounted? Blitzkof decides to stand and escape the position. Taylor closes the distance and pushes Blitzkof back into the cage. Blitzkof goes for a takedown attempt but Taylor pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Blitzkof. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Victor Blitzkof. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Taylor counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Chester Taylor has got the better of the ground game so far. Taylor sitting in guard, not really doing much. Taylor throwing strikes from guard but Blitzkof blocks nicely. Blitzkof throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Taylor rolls with it to try and escape but Blitzkof cranks on the arm and Taylor is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
