5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hank Reardon! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reardon uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Nugget has time to react. A big right from Reardon misses. Reardon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nugget's guard. Reardon scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Reardon chips away with some ground and pound. Reardon advances position into side control! Nugget is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Reardon working the head with strikes. Nugget gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Reardon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nugget sees it coming and avoids it easily. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nugget lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. No luck for Reardon with that takedown attempt. Reardon showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Nugget.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Nugget tries to get out of the position. Reardon sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Reardon shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Reardon was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Reardon fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Nugget is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Reardon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nugget is looking to escape. Reardon in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
