PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Crizol Rider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phillip Anselmo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rider has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Phillip Anselmo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Crizol Rider!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Phillip Anselmo!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rider shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Anselmo but Anselmo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Anselmo tries to clinch but Rider is having none of it.
Rider fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Rider is breathing heavily.
Rider shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Crizol Rider. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Anselmo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rider circles away.
Anselmo stuffs the takedown attempt from Rider. Rider gets slowly back to his feet.
Anselmo tries to clinch there but Rider circles away.
Anselmo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rider paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Anselmo tries to clinch but Rider is having none of it.
Rider with a lazy takedown attempt

and Anselmo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Anselmo.

Anselmo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Rider keeping moving, preventing Anselmo from controlling successfully.
Anselmo works over Rider with some ground and pound from guard.
Anselmo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Anselmo wants to control from the top but Rider keeps moving.
Rider can't keep his opponent in guard - Anselmo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Anselmo not doing much here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Anselmo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rider defends it well.
Anselmo passes to side control.
Anselmo advances nicely into full mount.

Anselmo working for a submission but Rider is keeping him at bay.
Anselmo working the ground and pound effectively.

Rider has left one of his arms exposed and Anselmo doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Rider screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
