Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Newcastle Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ariel Sakuraba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Newcastle Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ariel Sakuraba! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sakuraba drives through with a takedown into guard. Brown has momentary wrist control but Sakuraba slips an elbow through the middle. Sakuraba has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Sakuraba drops back looking for a leg! Brown is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Brown manages to kick Sakuraba off! Sakuraba jumps back into Brown's guard. Sakuraba thows a big elbow that misses. Sakuraba looks gassed! Sakuraba has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Brown is proving hard to escape from. Sakuraba pushes down on Brown's leg and manages to get into half guard. Brown on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Brown tries to get out of the position. Sakuraba is looking to take a break and control but Brown is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Brown avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Sakuraba. Brown is trying to stand back up but Sakuraba is controlling him
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Brown shoots in and drives through. Sakuraba sprawls well. Sakuraba feints and as Brown raises his hands in defense, Sakuraba changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sakuraba stays in close to Brown's body and controls the position. Sakuraba in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Brown knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sakuraba on the ground. Brown keeping moving, preventing Sakuraba from controlling successfully. Sakuraba stops Brown from standing up. Sakuraba trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Sakuraba prevents Brown from getting back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Brown gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Brown is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Sakuraba scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Brown is looking to stand up but Sakuraba isn't so interested in that idea. Sakuraba distracts Brown with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Sakuraba tries to free his leg and advance position but Brown is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brown is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sakuraba is controlling him.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Sakuraba slips a jab and a cross from Brown.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sakuraba looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sakuraba misses with a takedown and Brown counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Sakuraba! Sakuraba slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Sakuraba makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Brown lands a two punch combo.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brown fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sakuraba manages to avoid it. Sakuraba drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Brown pushes Sakuraba away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sakuraba gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Sakuraba has hold of Brown's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Brown seems comfortable defending it but Sakuraba has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Brown is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Brown is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Sakuraba couldn't care less - he's delighted!
