PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Guida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chanse Cravens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cravens has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Anderson Guida could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Chanse Cravens's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anderson Guida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chanse Cravens!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Guida or perhaps it was just good defense by Cravens which made him look bad.
Guida closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cravens circles away.

Guida gets a takedown into half guard.
Cravens is trying to stand back up but Guida is controlling him

Guida is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Guida tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cravens knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Guida is working for a submission of some sort.
Guida is nestled in close to Cravens, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cravens wants to get back to his feet.
Cravens looks gassed!
Guida winds up and cracks Cravens with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Cravens is trying to stand.

Guida is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Cravens tries to kick Guida off but Guida keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Cravens really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Guida. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Guida is working for a submission of some sort.
Guida prevents Cravens from standing back up.
Guida is trying to control the action in half guard but Cravens is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Guida connects with a nice short shot to Cravens's temple.

Guida is trying to work for a kimura but Cravens is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Guida trying to mount his opponent but Cravens defends it.
Cravens tries to kick Guida off but Guida keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Guida is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Cravens tries to buck Guida off but he can't manage it.
Guida breaks from Cravens's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Guida has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cravens's face.
Guida working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Cravens tries to buck Guida off but he can't manage it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Guida looking for a guillotine from mount but Cravens is having none of it.

Guida cracks Cravens with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Cravens is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Cravens in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Guida lands with some strikes.

Guida working for a guillotine from mount but Cravens is in no mood to give up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Guida is going olschool here, as he tries to force Cravens to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Cravens shrugs it off.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cravens really wants to buck Guida off and get back to his feet.

Guida working for a guillotine from mount but Cravens is in no mood to give up.

Guida looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Guida can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cravens is looking to escape.

Guida sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anderson Guida dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Cravens gets the takedown into side control.
Guida gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Cravens tries to stand but can't do so whilst Guida controls his leg.

Guida looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Guida is pressing down on Cravens's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Guida is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Cravens rolls with it to try and escape but Guida cranks on the arm and Cravens is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Anderson Guida!
