Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Rollins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Griffin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Griffin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephen Rollins! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Griffin connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Rollins momentarily.
Rollins throws a body punch but Griffin moves out of range. Rollins tries to clinch there but Griffin circles away.
Rollins jabbing away but nothing is landing. Some bone on bone action there as Griffin checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Griffin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Rollins looks for the body kick but Griffin saw that one coming. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Griffin avoids the head kick by Rollins.
Rollins throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Griffin. Rollins will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Rollins throws a leg kick which misses Griffin's front leg but catches the back leg as Griffin tries to avoid it. Griffin works the jab nicely. Rollins doesn't manage to clinch there - Griffin circles away.

Rollins throws a low kick but it's checked well by Griffin. Griffin shoots in for a double leg but Rollins sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Rollins looks to land a combination but Griffin avoids it well. Griffin on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rollins. Rollins obviously looking to wear him down.

Griffin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Rollins tries for a takedown but Griffin circles away easily letting Griffin counter with a right hand. Rollins misses with a wild combination.

and Griffin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Rollins shoots for a takedown but Griffin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Griffin is defended easily by Rollins. Rollins gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Rollins preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Griffin thows a big elbow that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Griffin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rollins works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Griffin distracts Rollins with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Griffin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Griffin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Griffin stops Rollins from standing up. Rollins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Griffin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Griffin throwing strikes but missing.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Rollins swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rollins takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Rollins looks gassed! Rollins throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Griffin is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Griffin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rollins avoids it really well and circles away. Rollins misses with a combination
and Griffin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

He's almost out here... but no, Griffin gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Griffin working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Possibly, maybe, no Griffin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Rollins is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Griffin has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rollins can't do much from the bottom here. The ground and pound from Griffin seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Griffin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rollins is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Rollins wants to get back to his feet. Rollins is trying to improve his position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Griffin circles away from the clinch attempt and Griffin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rollins won't be happy with that. Let's see if Rollins can do anything to dispel that myth. Rollins wants to get back to his feet. enabling Griffin to counter with a crisp jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rollins fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Griffin is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Griffin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. so Griffin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Rollins looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Rollins utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Griffin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rollins works some decent striking defense from the bottom. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Griffin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Griffin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. Griffin sprawls well initially but Rollins persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Rollins throwing shots but Griffin is blocking nicely. Griffin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rollins pulls his head out easily. Rollins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Griffin keeps working.
