Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between JC Maillet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Gleason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maillet comes to the cage accompanied by Blood on Our Hands. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, JC Maillet! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Gleason! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maillet throws a looping overhand right but Gleason ducks down to avoid it. Maillet looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Gleason lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Gleason fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Maillet avoids it really well and circles away. Gleason lands with a right hand. Gleason shoots in for a takedown but Maillet shows good takedown defense. Maillet shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gleason pinned against the cage. Gleason gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Gleason fails to land the takedown. JC Maillet has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Gleason. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Gleason!
Gleason wants to clinch up but Maillet keeps it at a distance. Gleason lands a nice looking kick to the body. Maillet takes a step back to recover. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gleason gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Maillet counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Gleason is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Maillet is controlling him. Gleason keeping moving, preventing Maillet from controlling successfully. Maillet preventing the sweep. Gleason looking to control.
Gleason striking off his back but it's not causing Maillet any problems. Gleason tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gleason misses with a takedown attempt - Maillet sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Maillet gets the takedown into side control. Gleason is being controlled here. Maillet working away. Gleason tries to improve position but can't. Maillet controls the position. Gleason manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gleason wants to get back to full guard. Gleason trying to control but Maillet postures up.
Still in half guard, Maillet seems content to control. Maillet working over Gleason with some ground and pound. Gleason looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maillet is pressing down on Gleason's thigh, looking to free his foot. Gleason is holding on for now. Maillet stalling.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Gleason tries to roll over but Maillet keeps him under control. Maillet wants to advance to full mount but Gleason doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Gleason wants to control the position but Maillet says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Maillet trying to mount his opponent but Gleason defends it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gleason wants to improve his position but Maillet is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that JC Maillet will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Gleason fails with the takedown and Maillet counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Maillet not doing much here.
Gleason is trying to stand up here but Maillet is controlling him well. Maillet wants to pass to mount but Gleason is defending the position. Maillet stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maillet looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Gleason looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Gleason looking for a guillotine here but Maillet defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gleason is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Gleason looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maillet pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gleason is keeping the position for now. Gleason wants to sweep but no luck. Gleason doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Gleason wants to stand and escape but Maillet is having none of it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Horrible takedown by Maillet or perhaps it was just good defense by Gleason which made him look bad. Gleason throws out a powerful jab. Gleason is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Gleason fails with the takedown and Maillet decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gleason's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gleason throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Maillet is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Maillet tries to free his leg and advance position but Gleason is retaining full guard. Gleason trying to keep a closed guard but Maillet is proving a slippery customer.
Maillet trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Maillet stopping the sweep attempt from Gleason. Maillet looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Maillet wants to stand but Gleason is controlling his posture from full guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Maillet shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Maillet sitting in guard, not really doing much. Maillet's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maillet decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Gleason is staying active underneath Maillet, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Gleason is trying to stand.
Gleason is trying to maintain the position but Maillet is very close to passing his half guard. Maillet is looking for a kimura here.
Maillet thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Gleason to regain full guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Gleason wants to get back to his feet but Maillet is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Gleason trying to control the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Maillet closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Maillet decides to stand back up. Maillet steps back and let's Gleason get back to his feet. A solid leg kick lands there for Gleason.
Maillet circles away from the clinch attempt and Maillet counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gleason won't be happy with that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gleason is working to avoid the ground and pound but Maillet connects with a decent elbow. Gleason regains half guard. Gleason is looking to escape. Maillet controlling the action here. Maillet knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gleason on the ground. Gleason blocking the ground and pound attempt from Maillet. Maillet moves into full mount! Gleason won't be happy about that! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gleason is trying to escape the mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maillet lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Gleason hang on? Gleason wants to control but Maillet is having none of it. Maillet lands a heavy elbow. Maillet lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Gleason takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Maillet putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Maillet looking to finish Gleason with some ground and pound. This is bad for Gleason!

JC Maillet overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gleason tries to roll over but Maillet keeps him under control. Maillet is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gleason sees it coming and defends easily. JC Maillet is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Gleason looks like he's trying to stand up.
And that's the end of the fight! JC Maillet showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Maillet, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
