Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Blanka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Herzog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blanka comes to the cage accompanied by Can't be Touched - Roy Jones Jr.. Herzog has chosen Struttin as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Chris Herzog has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedro Blanka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chris Herzog! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Herzog closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Blanka did well to prevent Herzog getting side control. Herzog seems to be working for a kimura but Blanka defends the submission attempt. Herzog trying to control the pace. Herzog looking for a submission but Blanka manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Blanka being controlled here, momentarily. Blanka is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blanka is looking for a triangle but Herzog pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Herzog tries to free his leg and advance position but Blanka is retaining full guard. Blanka looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Herzog looking to pass the guard. Herzog looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Blanka keeping moving, preventing Herzog from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Herzog trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Blanka had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Herzog is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Blanka Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Herzog's back instead. Herzog rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Herzog preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Herzog is trying to control but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Herzog holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Blanka is pressing down on Herzog's thigh, looking to free his foot. Herzog is holding on for now. Herzog trying to control from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Herzog might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Blanka kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Herzog closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Blanka to the mat! Blanka manages to get full guard. Herzog trying to control the position from guard on top but Blanka is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Despite being in the dominant position, Chris Herzog just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Herzog scores with a takedown into Blanka's guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Herzog bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Blanka's guard. Herzog content to stall in guard here. Blanka looking for a guillotine here but Herzog defends easily.

Herzog wants to control but Blanka is keeping him busy. Blanka trying to control here.
Herzog is trying to control the action in half guard but Blanka is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Blanka tries to roll over but Herzog keeps him under control. Herzog is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Blanka is just riding it out for now. Herzog eventually gives up the hold. Herzog is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Blanka doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Herzog. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Herzog jabbing away but nothing is landing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Herzog showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Blanka gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Herzog to score an easy takedown into full guard. Herzog trying to control the position from guard on top but Blanka is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Herzog trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Herzog wants to control from the top but Blanka keeps moving. Herzog forces his way into half guard. Blanka slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Herzog must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Herzog is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Blanka keeping moving, preventing Herzog from controlling successfully. Blanka is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Herzog slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Herzog trying to control the position but Blanka is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Blanka gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Herzog wants to control the pace but Blanka is squirming around nicely. Herzog controlling the pace for now. Blanka looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Herzog is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Blanka defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Herzog has the hooks in. Blanka is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Herzog goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Blanka escapes and is now in half guard on top. Herzog is looking to control Blanka's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Herzog avoid being mounted?
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Herzog is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Herzog gets back to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Chris Herzog comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Herzog has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
