Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Henry Reed! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alonso Too Hot! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Matheus Silva and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reed drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Reed trying to control the position from guard on top but Too Hot is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Reed looking to pass the guard. Reed is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Reed seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Too Hot for as long as he can get away with. Reed trying to control but Too Hot is working from the bottom. Too Hot wants to get back to his feet but Reed is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Reed is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Too Hot is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Too Hot misses with a wild combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reed slips a jab and a cross from Too Hot.
Reed looks to land a right hand but Too Hot moved out of range. Too Hot avoids the body shot from Reed.
Too Hot will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Too Hot takes the fight into the clinch. Too Hot tries to circle away but Reed has him pinned against the cage. Reed manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Reed blocks an uppercut.
Too Hot swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Reed jumps guard but Too Hot stands there with Reed around his waist. Reed gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Reed. Too Hot has a couple of punches blocked by Reed.
Too Hot throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Reed fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Reed takes a shot to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Too Hot working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Nice elbow from Too Hot. Too Hot has a couple of punches blocked by Reed.
Too Hot lands an elbow inside that Reed shrugs off. Reed stalls. Too Hot's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Reed bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Too Hot's head backwards. Alonso Too Hot is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Reed fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Too Hot sprawls well initially but Reed persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Too Hot looks gassed! Reed looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Reed tries to pass the half guard into mount. Too Hot knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Reed is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Reed is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Too Hot won't allow Reed to pass to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reed is keen to just control but Too Hot is a slippery customer. Too Hot is looking to escape. Too Hot is staying active underneath Reed, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Reed prevents Too Hot from standing back up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Reed rushes Too Hot and presses him up against the cage. Too Hot lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Reed stalling in the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Reed tries a body shot but Too Hot blocks it.
Too Hot lands an elbow inside. Too Hot doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
A head punch on the inside from Too Hot fails to land. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Too Hot. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Reed takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Too Hot creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Too Hot misses with a short punch on the inside. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Reed. Too Hot misses with a hook from the clinch. Reed blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Reed struggles to land a body shot inside as Too Hot controls his hands.
Too Hot wants to break free but Reed has control.
Reed tries to circle away but Too Hot has him pinned against the cage. Reed stalling the fight.
Reed blocks the elbow strike.
Too Hot looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. A nice right hand lands inside from Too Hot. Reed lands a body punch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Henry Reed dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Reed misses with a combination
and Too Hot cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A left lands for Reed. Reed throws a series of punches but Too Hot moves out of range. A combination from Too Hot does no damage. Too Hot seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Reed shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Too Hot is backing up but Reed catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Too Hot covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Reed Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Henry Reed!
