Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Meyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry Carlson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meyer kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is The Renegade by Styx. Carlson has chosen The Message as his entrance music. Barry Carlson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacob Meyer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Barry Carlson! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meyer slips a jab and a cross from Carlson.
Meyer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Carlson tries to clinch up. Carlson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Meyer can pounce on him.
Carlson tries to clinch up but Meyer circles away and keeps his distance. Meyer closes the distance but Carlson moves to the side and Carlson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Meyer's guard now. Carlson slips nicely into half guard. Carlson stands up from half guard. Carlson circles away from the clinch attempt and Carlson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carlson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Carlson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Carlson showed some decent athleticism there. Carlson is pressing down on Meyer's thigh, looking to free his foot. Meyer is holding on for now. Carlson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Meyer's head. Carlson is looking to take a break and control but Meyer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Meyer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Carlson is just content to waste time from the top position. Meyer takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carlson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Carlson postures up in Meyer's guard and throws a big left but Meyer blocks it. Carlson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Meyer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Carlson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Meyer is breathing heavily. Meyer keeping moving, preventing Carlson from controlling successfully. Carlson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Meyer wants to stand up but Carlson is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlson tries to free his leg and advance position but Meyer is retaining full guard. Carlson wants to control from the top but Meyer keeps moving. Carlson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Carlson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Meyer has Carlson pulled in close to control his posture. Meyer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Carlson looking to sit in guard and control but Meyer gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Carlson is wriggling around but Meyer manages to pass to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Meyer tries to stand and escape but Carlson is controlling the position. Carlson tries to roll over but Meyer keeps him under control. Carlson keeping hold of Meyer's head, controlling as best he can. Carlson moves into full guard.
Carlson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Meyer passes Carlson's right leg, so he's now in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Barry Carlson dominated that round. That's time! Meyer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Meyer rushes Carlson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Knees to the body from Meyer.
Meyer jumps guard and drags Carlson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Meyer wants to get back to his feet but Carlson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Carlson landing with the ground and pound. Carlson wants to pass the guard but Meyer is keeping the position. Carlson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Carlson stands up over Meyer, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Meyer is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Carlson passes into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meyer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Meyer regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Carlson. Carlson landing with the ground and pound. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Carlson's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Carlson trying to control the position from guard on top but Meyer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Meyer keeping full guard, as Carlson tries to pass. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carlson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Carlson trying to control but Meyer is working from the bottom. Carlson looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Let's hope that Carlson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Carlson postures up in Meyer's guard and throws a big left but Meyer blocks it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlson is looking to work some ground and pound but Meyer has wrist control. Meyer wants to stand up but Carlson is controlling him. Meyer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Carlson passes easily into side control. Nice work. Meyer is looking to reverse the position. Carlson misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Meyer is trying to control Carlson's posture but Carlson avoids it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Carlson tries to clinch up and Meyer counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Carlson!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carlson working to try and regain half guard.
Carlson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Meyer looking to control but Carlson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Carlson can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jacob Meyer will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Meyer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Carlson is pulling down on Meyer's head. It's preventing any offense from Meyer, at least for the moment. Meyer prevents Carlson from getting back to his feet. Meyer stands up from guard. Let's bang! Jacob Meyer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Meyer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Carlson looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carlson flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Barry Carlson has got the better of the ground game so far. Meyer seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
