Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sigge Strop!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Smith darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Strop tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Strop manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Strop closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Smith is trying to maintain the position but Strop is very close to passing his half guard.

Strop is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Strop is working for a submission of some sort.
Still in half guard, Strop seems content to control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Smith is working hard here to advance position.
Smith avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Strop.
Smith trying to hold on to Strop's head to control him but Strop postures up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Strop fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Smith sprawls well initially but Strop persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Smith manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Strop drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Smith manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Strop has Smith in his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Strop is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Smith is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Strop has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Smith won't allow Strop to sweep him here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Smith drops back looking for a leg! Strop is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Strop manages to kick Smith off! Smith jumps back into Strop's guard.

Strop is trying to control the position here. Smith has hold of a guillotine from the top though... oh, that looks naaaaasty, will Strop tap? Yes he will! The fight is all over! Smith jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Greg Smith!
