PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jay Blixt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Osulf Durin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blixt comes to the cage accompanied by Stretch Arm Strong - Second Chances. Durin is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Feuer Frei. Osulf Durin has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jay Blixt's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Blixt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Osulf Durin!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durin misses with the combination.
Durin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Blixt stuffs the takedown attempt from Durin. Durin gets slowly back to his feet.
Durin circles away from the clinch attempt.
Blixt throws a low kick, looking for Durin's leg but Durin calmly moves out of range.
Osulf Durin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Durin misses with a two punch combination.
Blixt tries to close the distance and clinch up but Durin swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Durin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Durin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Blixt wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blixt is trying to get back to full guard.
Durin passes the guard and advances to mount!

Blixt tries to hold on but Durin postures up.
Blixt tries to reverse the position but Durin maintains control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Blixt tries to clinch up but Durin circles away and keeps his distance.

Blixt throws an elbow that misses.
Blixt throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Durin blocks it with crossed arms.
Blixt tries to land a knee to the head but Durin blocks with his arms.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Blixt gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Blixt looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Blixt lands an elbow that stopped Durin in his tracks for a moment.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Blixt has Durin pressed against the cage, preventing Durin from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
No joy there for Durin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Blixt tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Durin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Blixt moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jay Blixt is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Blixt doesn't manage to clinch there - Durin circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Osulf Durin dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Durin misses with a hook. Blixt ducked under it nicely.

and Durin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Durin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Blixt is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Blixt is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Durin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Blixt can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Blixt lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Blixt tries to close the distance and clinch but Durin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Blixt tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Durin paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Blixt is looking to clinch but Durin is avoiding it.

and Durin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
The fight stays on the outside here - Blixt looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Durin throws a right hand that Blixt ducks under and follows up with a left that Blixt also avoids with ease.

Jay Blixt showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Blixt has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
