Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Deal Damatter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Silly Goose! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goose lands a head kick!
Damatter slips under a jab from Goose. Damatter closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Goose to the mat! Goose manages to get full guard. Damatter throwing strikes from guard but Goose blocks nicely. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Goose working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Damatter has passed into half guard!
Damatter is looking to advance position but Goose won't allow it. Damatter is keen to just control but Goose is a slippery customer. Goose is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Goose looking for submissions off his back. Damatter content to control rather than advance. Goose is looking for a sweep. Damatter is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Damatter in particular looking to stall. Damatter has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Damatter tries to pass the half guard into mount. Goose knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Damatter performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Damatter is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Damatter tries to control but Goose wriggling away.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Damatter working for a submission but Goose is keeping him at bay. Damatter scoring with strikes but Goose is staying in there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Damatter fails to advance to Goose's back. Damatter trying to control but he's not successful this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Goose regains half guard. Damatter is breathing heavily. Damatter is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Goose sees it coming and defends easily. Goose is looking to escape. Damatter wants to pass to mount but Goose is defending the position. Damatter is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Goose wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Goose wants to improve his position but Damatter is controlling well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Goose tries a head kick but it misses.
Goose throws a head kick that misses. Goose cracks the inside of Damatter's front leg. Damatter misses with a looping right. Damatter getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Damatter closes the distance and clinches. Damatter lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Goose blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Damatter makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Goose takes a shot to the head. Damatter gets a trip takedown into half guard. Goose wants to improve his position but Damatter is controlling well.
Goose is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Goose is in trouble now - Damatter has advanced to mount! Damatter looking to control but Goose is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Deal Damatter dominated that round. That's time! Damatter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Goose misses with a few strikes there.
Deal Damatter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Goose connects with a solid leg kick. Damatter thows a left - swing and a miss! Damatter will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Damatter lands with an uppercut that bounces Goose off the cage and back into rage. Goose blocks a low kick nicely. Goose throws a hook but Damatter avoids it easily. A head kick misses from Goose. Silly Goose seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Goose misses with a head kick.
Damatter uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Goose. Damatter moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Silly Goose has been cut. Goose looks to score with a jab to the body but Damatter is just out of range. Damatter decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Damatter controlling the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Damatter is trying to control the action in half guard but Goose is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Damatter passes to full mount! Goose is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Goose defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Damatter. Goose is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Goose is wriggling around trying to escape.
Goose is trying to escape the mount but Damatter keeps good control and instead manages to take Goose's back.

Damatter lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Goose is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Damatter.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Damatter is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Damatter is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Deal Damatter dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Silly Goose's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Goose throws a series of punches but Damatter moves out of range. Goose goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Damatter stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Damatter takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A big right from Goose misses. Good standup being displayed there by Damatter as he connects with a hook. Damatter closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Damatter stalling. Goose looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Damatter looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's one minute gone in the round. Goose tries to get to full guard but Damatter has control of the leg. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Damatter content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Damatter working the head and body with strikes. Damatter works his way into side control. Damatter thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Goose tries to get back to half guard but can't. Damatter works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Damatter trying to control the position but Goose is working away. Damatter staying calm. Goose tries to improve position but can't. Damatter tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Goose is not content to let Damatter control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Goose is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Damatter asserts his dominance and retains side control. Goose manages to get back to half guard. Goose wants to get back to full guard. Damatter has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Deal Damatter is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Damatter takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Damatter is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Goose is surviving well by controlling Damatter's body position as best he can.
And that's the end of the fight! Deal Damatter showed his dominance in that final round. Well Damatter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
