Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Alexander Ovechkin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricky Hatton!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hatton smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Hatton misses with a two punch combination.
Hatton takes a swing at Ovechkin's ribcage but misses.
Hatton avoids a kick to the body.
Hatton throws a lazy right hand but Ovechkin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ovechkin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hatton moves away.
Ovechkin misses with a hook. Hatton ducked under it nicely.
A bone on bone clash there as Ovechkin blocks the leg kick.
Ovechkin tries for a takedown but Hatton sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
An inside leg kick from Hatton misses.
Ovechkin dives in and grabs Hatton's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hatton pushes down on Ovechkin's head and hops out.
Hatton throws a jab but it's blocked by Ovechkin.
A cross from Hatton lands.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hatton throws a series of punches but Ovechkin moves out of range.
Hatton gets a clinch.
Ovechkin goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Hatton.
Hatton lands with a short shot to the head.
Hatton prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Ovechkin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ovechkin can't find room to land a body shot as Hatton controls the action.
Hatton scores with a nice hook to the head.
Hatton lands a right hand that snaps the head of Ovechkin backwards.
Hatton lands a shot to the body.
Hatton breaks from the clinch.
Ovechkin takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
A punch lands to the side of Ovechkin 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Ovechkin is breathing heavily.
Hatton lands a hook that stumbles Ovechkin back into the cage. Hatton follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Ovechkin to the canvas! Hatton pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Ovechkin has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
