Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Derek Blackley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cronus Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blackley comes to the ring accompanied by Shock To The System by Billy Idol. Jones has chosen Never Thought About Going Back as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Cronus Jones!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackley swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones.

Jones throws a lazy right hand but Blackley sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Blackley checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Blackley moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off.

and Blackley counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jones won't be happy with that.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Jones is pushing Blackley's head away, looking to escape. Blackley manages to hold on to the position though.
Jones is trying to control Blackley's posture but Blackley avoids it.

Blackley decides to stand back up.
Jones fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Blackley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jones is fending him off so far but Blackley persists. Nope, Jones circles away and we're back to standing.
Blackley uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jones.

Blackley is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Jones has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Jones!
Jones stands up over Blackley, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Blackley has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though.
Blackley is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Blackley looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Blackley decides to stand up, so the ref orders Jones to his feet.
Jones misses with a looping right.
Blackley steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jones.
Blackley tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance.
Jones cracks Blackley with a right hand to the side of the head.

Jones has managed to clinch.

Jones breaks the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Blackley swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones.
Blackley fails in his attempt to clinch.
Jones lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Blackley closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Jones is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Blackley has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Jones is looking for a sweep.
Jones sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Blackley prevents Jones from improving his position.
Blackley wants to take a breather but Jones is having none of it.

Jones is staying active underneath Blackley, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Jones regains full guard. Nicely done.

Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Blackley can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jones keeping moving, preventing Blackley from controlling successfully.
Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Blackley's guard.
Blackley is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close second round but I would say that Derek Blackley will probably get the nod.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Blackley postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jones is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Blackley, into his guard.

Jones decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Blackley misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jones throws a hook but Blackley avoids it easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Blackley fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jones sprawls well initially but Blackley persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Still in half guard, Blackley seems content to control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Derek Blackley showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Blackley, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
