Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Smythe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mortimer Duke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duke has chosen Pink Floyd - Money as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Smythe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mortimer Duke! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Columbo Gatti and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duke moves in looking to clinch but Smythe pushes him off. Duke throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Duke shoots for a double leg takedown but Smythe sprawls well. He's pushed Duke's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Smythe throws a right and a left that both miss. Duke tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Smythe swivels and escapes. Smythe moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Duke looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Smythe is fending him off so far but Duke persists. Nope, Smythe circles away and we're back to standing. Jimmy Smythe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mortimer Duke. A jab lands there for Smythe. Duke shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Duke gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Smythe stopping the sweep attempt from Duke. Smythe really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Smythe is looking to stand up but Duke won't let him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smythe stands up and waves to Duke to follow him. Smythe blocks a head kick by Duke.
Duke instigates a clinch. Duke tries to pull guard but Smythe won't allow it.
Duke is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Smythe is defending well for now. A battle for position here, against the cage. Duke's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Duke fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Duke tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Smythe smiles and moves away.
Smythe clinches up against the cage. Duke breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Smythe will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Duke shoots in but doesn't get the takedown letting Smythe counter with a right hand. The fight stays on the outside here - Smythe looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Smythe has managed to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Duke wants a takedown but no success here.
Duke's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Smythe closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Duke to the mat! Duke manages to get full guard. Smythe stands up and waves to Duke to follow him. Duke fails with the takedown and Smythe counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Duke is looking to improve his position.
Smythe wants to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Duke is trying to get back to his feet. Smythe will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Smythe decides to stand back up. Smythe steps back and let's Duke get back to his feet. Smythe blocks a head kick by Duke.
Duke has his takedown stuffed and Smythe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Duke gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Smythe counters with a single leg into guard. Duke didn't expect that. Duke looks gassed! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Smythe gets to his feet. Duke looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Duke fails with the takedown and Smythe counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Smythe dominated that round. That's time! Smythe's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Duke doesn't succeed with the takedown and Smythe counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Duke crunches a lovely knee into Smythe's ribcage. Duke is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Smythe wants a takedown.

We're back to clinching against the cage. Smythe blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Duke landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Duke is trying to maintain a safe position but Smythe gets an underhook and turns Duke into the cage. Smythe wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round. Smythe throws a nice looking combination but Duke bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Duke looks to clinch and Smythe counters with a single leg into guard. Duke didn't expect that. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smythe gets to his feet - Duke follows without any prompting. Smythe misses with a few strikes there.
Smythe shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Smythe wants to stand but Duke has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Smythe decides to stand and escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Duke. Duke closes the distance looking to clinch and Smythe counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Duke! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Duke's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Smythe tries to control but Duke wriggling away. Smythe tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Smythe trying to control but Duke is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Duke is desperately trying to improve his position but Smythe has a good base and remains in mount. Smythe looking to control but Duke is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Duke squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Duke flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Smythe wants to control the pace but Duke is squirming around nicely. Smythe is really struggling to control Duke but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Jimmy Smythe just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Smythe looks to land a combination but Duke avoids it well. Smythe swats away the attempt to clinch by Duke. The fight stays on the outside here - Duke looks like he's thinking about clinching though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Duke obliges. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Duke takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Duke misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Smythe has had enough of the clinch but Duke keeps him there for the moment. Duke tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Smythe avoids it. Duke gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Smythe fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Smythe looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Duke wants to control but Smythe is keeping busy.
Duke avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Smythe. Duke has one foot on Smythe's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Smythe throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Duke.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smythe throws a series of strikes that have Duke backpedaling.
Smythe cracks Duke with a good jab. Duke fails with the takedown and Smythe holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Smythe blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Smythe wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Duke has him pressed against the cage. Smythe wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Duke escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smythe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Duke controls Smythe momentarily but Smythe frees himself. Mortimer Duke has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Duke has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Smythe has passed into side control.
Smythe stands up and we're back to a striking position. Jimmy Smythe is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Smythe looks to land a combination but Duke avoids it well.
And that's the end of the fight! Jimmy Smythe showed his dominance in that final round. Well Smythe has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
