Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Arto Muna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valdemar Kosonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Arto Muna!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Valdemar Kosonen!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kosonen fails with a takedown attempt.
Muna scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Muna throws a head kick but Kosonen moves out of range.
Kosonen defending well as Muna loads up on a big left hand.

Kosonen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Muna's guard.
Kosonen tries to free his leg and advance position but Muna is retaining full guard.
Kosonen is looking to work some ground and pound but Muna has wrist control.
Kosonen throwing strikes from guard but Muna blocks nicely.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kosonen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kosonen trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Muna looking for a guillotine here but Kosonen defends easily.

Muna has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kosonen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kosonen has gone for a leg lock! Muna slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kosonen's guard.
Kosonen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Muna manages to get himself to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Muna working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kosonen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kosonen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Muna avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Kosonen trying to control the position from guard on top but Muna is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kosonen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Muna utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kosonen thows a big elbow that misses.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Muna is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kosonen drops back, looking for a kneebar! Muna looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Muna looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Muna!
Muna wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kosonen keeps working.
You can see the frustration on Kosonen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kosonen is trying to improve his position.
Kosonen manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kosonen is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Muna pulls his head out easily.
Kosonen is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Muna throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Kosonen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Muna's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Muna's back!
Kosonen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Muna turns into Kosonen and is now in his guard.
Kosonen tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Muna sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kosonen's guard.
Muna thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kosonen's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Arto Muna dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Muna throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Muna displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kosonen.
Muna throws a one two combo.


Kosonen is rocked!
Muna circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Kosonen tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Muna wins by KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Arto Muna!
Arto Muna retains his lightweight title!
