Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimiro Steputivina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mir comes to the cage accompanied by Running With the Devil By Van Halen. Bob Mir has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob Mir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vladimiro Steputivina! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Lou da Vinci and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Steputivina sprawls well. Steputivina wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mir gets slowly back to his feet. Bob Mir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Steputivina misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mir tries to score a power double leg takedown but Steputivina sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mir somewhat. Steputivina misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mir avoids the head kick by Steputivina.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steputivina has his takedown stuffed and Mir decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Steputivina's guard. Mir throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Steputivina looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mir has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Mir trying to control but Steputivina is working from the bottom. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mir accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Steputivina escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mir gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Mir throws a big right hand that misses. Mir scoring with punches to the head and body. Mir postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steputivina is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mir is aware though and is defending well. Mir is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Mir trying to control the position from guard on top but Steputivina is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mir looking to pass the guard. Mir lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Mir scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Mir will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. This has been an exciting period of action! Steputivina working for a triangle but Mir defends it easily.
Steputivina looks gassed! Mir drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Mir as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Steputivina screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Mir! Nice submission victory there!
