Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Patrik Westerlund (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Brothers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Westerlund comes to the cage accompanied by Can't be touched. Marcus Brothers looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Brothers! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brothers fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Westerlund drives through with a takedown into guard. Westerlund controls from within his opponent's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Westerlund accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Brothers is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Brothers can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Westerlund controls the pace. Brothers wants to stand but Westerlund is controlling the position. Westerlund wants to control from the top but Brothers keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Westerlund stands up from guard. Let's bang! Westerlund blocks a head kick by Brothers.
Westerlund takes the fight into the clinch. Westerlund keeps control of Brothers as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Westerlund digs a right hand into Brothers's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Brothers's gas tank. Brothers looks gassed! Westerlund keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Brothers's efforts to push away. Westerlund is stalling here.

Westerlund wants to control the pace but Brothers is squirming around nicely. Brothers is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Westerlund trying to control but Brothers is having none of it. Westerlund misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Westerlund looking to control but Brothers is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Brothers's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Westerlund throws some wild stikes that Brothers manages to avoid easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Brothers is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Westerlund can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Brothers is looking to escape. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Westerlund takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Patrik Westerlund dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Westerlund throws a right and a left that both miss. Brothers changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Westerlund tries to avoid it but Brothers manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Westerlund to the ground. Westerlund escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Westerlund shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Brothers but Brothers pushes him off and we're back to square one. Brothers misses with a combination
and Westerlund counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Westerlund trying to pass the guard but Brothers defending well. Westerlund thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Westerlund seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Brothers does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Westerlund prevents Brothers from standing back up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Westerlund thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Brothers's head. Brothers is not content to let Westerlund control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Brothers swats away the attempt to clinch by Westerlund. Marcus Brothers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A low kick from Brothers misses and Westerlund finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Westerlund swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Westerlund throws a wild combination but nothing lands. The fight stays on the outside here - Westerlund looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Westerlund keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Brothers slips a jab and a cross from Westerlund.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Westerlund tries to close the distance and clinch but Brothers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Brothers misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Brothers throws a series of punches but Westerlund moves out of range. Brothers throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Westerlund. A telegraphed right hand from Westerlund misses the target. Brothers misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Westerlund looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Brothers swats away the attempt to clinch by Westerlund. Brothers throws a series of punches but Westerlund avoids them all with ease. Brothers will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Westerlund wants to clinch. Westerlund takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Westerlund plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Brothers throws a combination. Westerlund tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Westerlund is looking to clinch. Brothers fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Westerlund sprawls well initially but Brothers persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Westerlund wants to control but Brothers is keeping busy and won't allow it. Brothers scoring with strikes to the body and head. Brothers tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Westerlund tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Westerlund manages to get to full guard.
Westerlund has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Westerlund has a closed guard, preventing Brothers from standing up. Brothers won't allow Westerlund to get back to his feet.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Westerlund has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Brothers misses with a jab, cross combination.
Westerlund tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Westerlund looks to land a left hand but Brothers moved out of range nicely. Westerlund tries to clinch up. Westerlund misses with a two punch combination.
Brothers misses with a body kick. Brothers shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Brothers not landing any meaningful shots this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Patrik Westerlund is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Brothers throws a right and a left that both miss. Brothers steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Westerlund. That one must have hurt. Westerlund throws a head kick that half lands.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Brothers. Brothers wants to stand but Westerlund is controlling his arm. Westerlund regains half guard. Westerlund makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Westerlund moves into the clinch. Westerlund with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Knees to the body from Westerlund.
Westerlund keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Brothers's efforts to push away. Brothers is trying to force a seperation but Westerlund has the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brothers is trying to break the clinch but Westerlund has him pressed against the cage. Brothers looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Brothers tries to circle away but Westerlund has him pinned against the cage. Westerlund looking to slow down the pace here. Westerlund can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight. Brothers is trying to break the clinch but Westerlund has him pressed against the cage. Brothers wants to break the clinch but can't.
Brothers looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Brothers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Westerlund gets the takedown into side control. Westerlund is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Brothers is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Brothers tries to escape but Westerlund is in control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brothers is trying to buck Westerlund off. Westerlund trying to control the action but Brothers is working from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Horrible takedown by Westerlund or perhaps it was just good defense by Brothers which made him look bad. Brothers shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Brothers is stalling here. Westerlund is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Brothers seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Westerlund has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Westerlund trying to control the action but Brothers is working from the bottom. Westerlund moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Westerlund prevents Brothers from escaping the position. Brothers is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Westerlund is looking to take a break and control but Brothers is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Patrik Westerlund. Well Westerlund has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
