The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
maxwell avoids the head kick by Tran Duc.
maxwell throws a sloppy head kick and Tran Duc moves out of range easily.
Tran Duc throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

maxwell looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fighters are battling for position here. Tran Duc manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

maxwell postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tran Duc is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of maxwell, into his guard.
Tran Duc controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Tran Duc has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Pierre Tran Duc just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
maxwell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

maxwell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tran Duc gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Tran Duc controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Tran Duc is working maxwell over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

maxwell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tran Duc gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Tran Duc stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. maxwell swivels though and keeps the full guard.

maxwell is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Tran Duc rolls with it to try and escape but maxwell cranks on the arm and Tran Duc is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
