Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renato Sobral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendes comes to the cage accompanied by I gotta Feeling. Renato Sobral told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sobral wants to clinch up but Mendes keeps it at a distance.
Mendes tries to clinch but Sobral moves out of range.
Sobral fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mendes sprawls well initially but Sobral persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mendes moves into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mendes keeping moving, preventing Sobral from controlling successfully.
Mendes is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mendes tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sobral postures up in Mendes's guard and throws a big left but Mendes blocks it.
Sobral postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Mendes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sobral doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Mendes is tightening it up a little... Sobral has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Sobral reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Sobral taps out! nice BJJ there by Mendes!
