The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calvio looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Shogun is looking to improve his position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shogun throws a sloppy head kick and Calvio moves out of range easily.
Shogun throws a leg kick but Calvio checks it.
Shogun tries to clinch up but Calvio circles away and keeps his distance.
Calvio shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Shogun is trying to defend but Calvio finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A head kick misses from Shogun.
Shogun tries to clinch but Calvio is having none of it.
Shogun tries to land a front kick but Calvio steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A nice inside leg kick there by Shogun. That's going to slow Calvio down.
Shogun walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Calvio checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Shogun tries to clinch but Calvio is having none of it.
Shogun feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Calvio's calf.
Calvio changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shogun tries to avoid it but Calvio manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shogun to the ground. Shogun escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Shogun tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Shogun lands a good knee to the midsection. Calvio won't want to take too many of those.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
