Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Senki Gudo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Naozumi Akimoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gudo comes into the arena with Money to Blow blaring out of the sound system. Akimoto comes into a darkened arena with his song building. AudioMachine - Assassin kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Senki Gudo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Naozumi Akimoto! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shirou Masuda and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Akimoto closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Akimoto looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Gudo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Akimoto tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gudo swats him away and circles back towards the center. Gudo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Akimoto is not content to let Gudo control the position. Gudo wants to pass the guard but Akimoto is defending well. Gudo takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gudo is trying to control. Akimoto wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Akimoto taking some punishment here, with Gudo in his half guard. Gudo lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Gudo scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Ground and pound from Gudo. Gudo escapes and gets back to his feet. Gudo fails in his attempt to clinch. Akimoto swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Gudo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Akimoto won't be happy with that. Akimoto is looking to regain half guard here but Gudo keeps moving and retains side control. Gudo landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Gudo scores with punches from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gudo is staying tight to Akimoto's torso, preventing him from escaping. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Gudo tries to move to mount but Akimoto blocks the move with his legs. Gudo works to advance to full mount. Akimoto defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Gudo scoring with strikes but Akimoto is staying in there. Gudo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Akimoto is looking to escape. Gudo lands a big elbow. Akimoto wants to control but Gudo is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Gudo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Akimoto is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Gudo with shots to the head and body - Akimoto looks very uncomfortable down there. Gudo looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Akimoto tries to lock up and control but Gudo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Akimoto taking shots to the head. Gudo with the ground and pound from mount. Gudo controlling from mount. Gudo lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
It looks like Naozumi Akimoto has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gudo is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Akimoto can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Akimoto is bucking up trying to escape but Gudo cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Akimoto is trying desperately to improve position. Gudo looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Gudo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Gudo landing shots from mount. Gudo scoring with strikes but Akimoto is staying in there. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gudo scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Senki Gudo dominated that round. The cut man is working on Naozumi Akimoto's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Gudo is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Gudo stalks Akimoto and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Akimoto's face. Akimoto staggers backwards, shaken.
That has opened up Naozumi Akimoto's cut even more. Gudo scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Gudo scores with a jab to the body. Gudo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Akimoto was covering up waiting for the punch and Gudo finishes the takedown easily into guard. Gudo is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Akimoto is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gudo's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Gudo chips away with some ground and pound. Gudo slips nicely into half guard. Gudo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Gudo perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Akimoto trying to control but Gudo postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gudo scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Gudo looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Gudo slips a nice elbow through Akimoto's hands, connecting with Akimoto's forehead. Gudo has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Senki Gudo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gudo raining down shots from the mount! Gudo has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Akimoto's face.

Gudo has hold of Akimoto's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Akimoto manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Gudo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Gudo seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Akimoto for as long as he can get away with. Gudo wants to control the pace but Akimoto is squirming around nicely. Gudo cracks Akimoto with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Naozumi Akimoto's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Naozumi Akimoto's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Senki Gudo!
