Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between AJ Strey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and simon peloquin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). AJ Strey looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
peloquin cracks a nice hook into Strey's ribs.
Strey dives in and grabs peloquin's left leg, looking for a takedown. peloquin pushes down on Strey's head and hops out.

peloquin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Strey is trying to defend but peloquin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, peloquin cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

peloquin has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Strey has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
peloquin has the hooks in. Strey is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

peloquin lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Strey smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

AJ Strey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Strey is looking for a sweep. peloquin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
peloquin winds up and cracks Strey with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
