PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Masterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Chips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that James Masterson has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily James Masterson seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chips shoots in but no luck this time.
Nice sprawl there from Masterson as Chips shoots in.
Masterson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
James Masterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Masterson swings for the body but Chips moves out of range.
Masterson throws a right hand that Chips ducks under and follows up with a left that Chips also avoids with ease.
Masterson misses with a wild body shot.
Chips keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Chips shoots in and drives through. Masterson sprawls well.

Chips is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Masterson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Chips.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Chips is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Chips shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Masterson is trying to defend but Chips finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Chips might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Masterson kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Chips is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Masterson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Masterson has escaped and now he's on top!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Chips has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Masterson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Chips is breathing heavily.
Masterson is looking to stand up but Chips won't let him.

Chips escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Masterson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Masterson thuds his right hand into Chips's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Masterson leaves Chips with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Chips changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Masterson tries to avoid it but Chips manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Masterson to the ground. Masterson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Chips feints and as Masterson raises his hands in defense, Chips changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Masterson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Chips is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Masterson blocks Chips's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Chips is squirming around, avoiding Masterson's attempts to control the action.
Masterson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
