Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sverd changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pouta looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Pouta sneaks back into half guard.
Pouta wants to improve his position but Sverd is controlling well.
Sverd is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Sverd is keen to just control but Pouta is a slippery customer.
Pouta wants to get back to full guard.
Sverd trying to mount his opponent but Pouta defends it.
Pouta trying to hold on to Sverd's head to control him but Sverd postures up.
Pouta wants to improve his position but Sverd is controlling well.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pouta moves out of range of the body kick from Sverd.
Sverd pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Sverd throws a shot from downtown. Pouta moves away and avoids it.

Sverd throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Sverd looks to score with a jab to the body but Pouta is just out of range.
Sverd misses with a double jab.

Sverd fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Sverd attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Sverd looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Pouta is looking to improve his position.
Pouta trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Sverd wants to finish this one by submission but Pouta is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Sverd.

Pouta tries to roll over but Sverd keeps him under control.

Sverd is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pouta doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sverd.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Pouta is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Sverd moves into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sverd working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pouta doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pouta manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Sverd moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Pouta won't allow Sverd to sweep him here.
Sverd has his foot on Pouta's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pouta works his way back into a safe position though.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Sverd holds on and takes a little breather.

Sverd is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Pouta is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eirik Sverd dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Sverd shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sverd accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Sverd tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sverd has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Pouta manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Pouta wants to pass the guard but Sverd is keeping the position.

Pouta wants to take his opponent's back but Sverd doesn't allow it.

Pouta has control of Sverd's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Sverd regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Eirik Sverd will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Pouta gets caught flat footed, as Sverd shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Sverd has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Pouta celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
