Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Punchy Mcsmashenstein! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Terry Norris! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcsmashenstein misses with a body kick. Norris bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Mcsmashenstein wants to get back to his feet. Mcsmashenstein is not content to let Norris control the position. Norris staying calm. Mcsmashenstein knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Norris on the ground. Mcsmashenstein is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Norris asserts his dominance and retains side control. Norris tries to advance to mount but can't. Mcsmashenstein pushes Norris away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Norris gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Norris tries for a kimura but Mcsmashenstein is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Norris shoots for a double leg takedown but Mcsmashenstein sprawls well. He's pushed Norris's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Punchy Mcsmashenstein is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mcsmashenstein fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Norris manages to avoid it. A telegraphed right hand from Mcsmashenstein misses the target. Mcsmashenstein misses with a wild combination.
Mcsmashenstein tries to bum rush Norris with a series of wild strikes but Norris uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Norris darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Norris wants to work for an arm triangle but Mcsmashenstein is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Norris stops Mcsmashenstein from getting back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mcsmashenstein is staying active underneath Norris, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Norris is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Mcsmashenstein tries to kick Norris off but Norris keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Norris is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Norris looks gassed! Mcsmashenstein is trying to stand.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mcsmashenstein connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Norris momentarily.
Punchy Mcsmashenstein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mcsmashenstein drops Norris with a straight right hand, right on the button! Mcsmashenstein follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
