Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Florantine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacob Esau! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Florantine connects with a knee to the head.
Esau looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Florantine lands a nice knee to the body. Esau stops a takedown attempt from Florantine.
Florantine landing knees to the head.
Esau wants to break free but Florantine has control.
Esau wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Florantine has him pressed against the cage. Florantine tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Florantine's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Esau slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
It looks like Joe Florantine has been cut. Esau misses with a two punch combination.
Esau misses with a leg kick. Esau throws a right and a left that Florantine avoids nicely. Florantine wants to clinch. Florantine needs to keep his hands up - Esau had a free shot at his head there. Florantine changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Esau tries to avoid it but Florantine manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Esau to the ground. Esau escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Florantine is looking to clinch. Esau tried to score with a low kick but Florantine checks it. Florantine takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
This has been an exciting period of action! Florantine showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Esau.
Florantine is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Florantine is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Florantine takes a shot right to the bread basket. Esau will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Esau works over Florantine's head and body with a nice combination. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. No joy there for Esau, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A clash of legs there as Florantine blocks the low kick. Esau dips to his left and cracks Florantine with an uppercut!
Joe Florantine's cut is getting worse. Esau connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Florantine to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Esau!
