The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daniels wants to slow Lilke down by chopping away at his legs. A combination from Lilke does no damage. Lilke takes a swing at Daniels's ribcage but misses. Daniels throws a leg kick that misses. Daniels uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lilke.
Daniels lands with a thumping leg kick.
Lilke throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lilke stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Daniels. Daniels throws a nice outside leg kick. Daniels delivers a nice body kick. Lilke stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Daniels. Daniels scoring well with a low kick there.
A clash of legs there as Lilke blocks the low kick. Daniels shoots in for a double leg but Lilke sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Lilke throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Good exchange - Daniels coming out on top. Lilke misses with the combination.

Lilke looks gassed! Lilke stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Daniels. Daniels lands with a thumping leg kick.
Daniels is looking to slow Lilke down with leg kicks. A solid body kick from Daniels. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Daniels throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Daniels fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lilke. Daniels throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Daniels pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Daniels feints and then cracks Lilke's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Lilke down. Daniels lands with a kick to the temple. Lilke shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Daniels lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Daniels lets loose with a powerful body kick. Lilke will feel that in the morning. Daniels moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Lilke's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Nice body kick from Daniels. Daniels feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Lilke's calf. A kick lands to the mid section there for Daniels.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice body kick from Daniels. Daniels lands with a thumping leg kick.
Daniels keeps Lilke at a distance using the push kick. Daniels misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Daniels throws a head kick that misses. Jerome Daniels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Daniels dives in and grabs Lilke's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lilke pushes down on Daniels's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerome Daniels. That's going to take a lot out of him. A slapping body kick lands there for Daniels. A good leg kick by Daniels. Daniels connects with a body shot.

Daniels shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Lilke wants to stand but Daniels is controlling the position. Daniels advances to half guard. Lilke looks like he's trying to stand up.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Daniels wants to work for an arm triangle but Lilke is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Daniels is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lilke defends it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Lilke. Lilke misses with an attempted mid kick.
Daniels uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lilke.
A slapping body kick lands there for Daniels. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lilke throws a half hearted mid kick. Daniels is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lilke's half guard. Daniels wants to work for an arm triangle but Lilke is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Daniels seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lilke does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Daniels takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Lilke has one foot on Daniels's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Lilke moves out of range as Daniels throws a body kick.
Daniels scores with a slapping inside leg kick. A punch combination from Lilke misses. Lilke throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Daniels counters with an inside leg kick. Jerome Daniels is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lilke throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Daniels. Daniels throws a head kick but Lilke moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Daniels connects with a high kick. Lilke checks a low kick from Daniels. Daniels slips a jab and a cross from Lilke.
Lilke blocks a leg kick. Daniels does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Jerome Daniels is winning the standup battle so far. Lilke fails in his attempt to clinch. Lilke forces Daniels back against the cage and clinches. Daniels manages to pull guard.
Lilke is looking to stand up but Daniels won't let him. Lilke got a little sloppy there for a moment and Daniels has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lilke has managed to get both his arms back between Daniels's legs - danger averted.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Daniels bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lilke's guard. Lilke looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Lilke wriggles free and stands up. Daniels keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lilke gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Lilke is controlling Daniels's posture. Daniels won't allow Lilke to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lilke is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Daniels trying to control the position from guard on top but Lilke is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lilke can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Daniels controls the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Daniels trying to control but Lilke is working from the bottom. Lilke not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Daniels finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Jerome Daniels dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Daniels lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Daniels throws the kick towards the body but Lilke avoids it. Lilke displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Daniels throws out the jab. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Lilke checks a leg kick. Daniels moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Lilke dives in and grabs Daniels's left leg, looking for a takedown. Daniels pushes down on Lilke's head and hops out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lilke swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Daniels lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Daniels motions for Lilke to come forward. Daniels throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Daniels goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Lilke misses with a body shot.
Daniels fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Lilke is out of range. Daniels throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Daniels is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lilke can do to turn this around? Lilke keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Daniels shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lilke sprawls well. Lilke wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Daniels gets slowly back to his feet. Daniels displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Daniels throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Lilke tries to clinch up. Daniels throws a head kick but Lilke moves out of range.
Daniels shoots and misses and Lilke counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Daniels moves away from the strike by Lilke. Lilke is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Daniels rather than just go for the knockout. Lilke wants to clinch up but Daniels keeps it at a distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Daniels fails with the takedown and Lilke moves into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerome Daniels. That's going to take a lot out of him. Daniels tries to score a body lock takedown but Lilke shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Lilke goes for a takedown attempt but Daniels pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Lilke has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Daniels. Lilke lands a jab to the head.
Daniels tries to keep at a distance but Lilke has taken the fight into the clinch. Daniels is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Lilke pulls him back up using the underhooks. Lilke drags the fight down to the ground.
Daniels wants to pass the guard but Lilke is keeping the position. Daniels has gone for a leg lock! Lilke slips out almost immediately though and dives into Daniels's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lilke sitting in guard here, content to control. Daniels working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Lilke has passed into half guard!
Lilke tries to stand and escape but Daniels is controlling the position. Jay Lilke has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jerome Daniels is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Lilke is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Daniels defends it well.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jerome Daniels. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Daniels, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
