Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jasper Higgins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gristle McThornbody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McThornbody has chosen Workhorse as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Gristle McThornbody will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jasper Higgins! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gristle McThornbody! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McThornbody darts in and clinches Higgins up against the cage. McThornbody works on Higgins's body with a couple of short punches. McThornbody tries to land knees in the clinch but Higgins avoids the damage to the body. McThornbody breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. McThornbody tries to close the distance and clinch up but Higgins swats him away and circles back towards the center. Higgins throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. McThornbody throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Higgins stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. McThornbody follows into mount!
It looks like Jasper Higgins has been cut. Higgins is breathing heavily. Higgins is squirming around, avoiding McThornbody's attempts to control the action. Higgins has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of McThornbody's lack of action.
McThornbody thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Higgins's head. McThornbody wants to get back to his feet.
McThornbody takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. McThornbody wants to stand up but Higgins is controlling the position.
Higgins might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. McThornbody sitting and controlling from the half guard. Higgins moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. McThornbody drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Higgins dives on top into guard. McThornbody trying to strike off his back.
Higgins stops McThornbody from standing up. McThornbody is trying to control the position from the bottom.
McThornbody lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Higgins!
That's two minutes gone in the round. McThornbody controlling from mount. McThornbody goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Higgins turns into him and now he's in McThornbody's guard.
McThornbody wants to control the position but Higgins says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. McThornbody is trying to maintain the position but Higgins is very close to passing his half guard. McThornbody tries to kick Higgins off but Higgins keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Higgins blocks the strikes from McThornbody.
McThornbody tries to get to full guard but Higgins has control of the leg. McThornbody pushes Higgins off looking to stand but Higgins dives back in and keeps control.
Higgins could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. McThornbody is trying to control but can't.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. McThornbody stuffs the takedown attempt from Higgins. Higgins gets slowly back to his feet. McThornbody gets caught flat footed, as Higgins shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. McThornbody throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
McThornbody is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. McThornbody is trying to control the position but Higgins postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McThornbody trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Higgins stops McThornbody from standing up. McThornbody looking to sweep here. No luck so far. McThornbody managing to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Higgins passes McThornbody's right leg, so he's now in half guard. McThornbody is trying to get back to full guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Higgins connects with a nice short shot to McThornbody's temple. McThornbody is looking to get back to full guard here but Higgins has managed to pass to side control instead. McThornbody tries to improve his position but Higgins has taken his back! Higgins has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will McThornbody tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Higgins Pushes McThornbody away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jasper Higgins! Jasper Higgins retains his light heavyweight title!
